How to create flawless Cateye
Creating a flawless cat eye, also known as winged eyeliner, requires a steady hand and some practice. Here’s a step-by-step guidance by Aura Make- Up Expert to help you achieve a perfect cat eye look:
What you’ll need:
* Liquid or gel eyeliner (black or the color of your choice)
* Angled eyeliner brush (if using gel eyeliner)
* Eye makeup remover (for clean-up, if needed)
* Q-tips or cotton swabs
Step-by-step guidance by our Make-Up Expert
1. Start with a clean canvas: Make sure your eyelids are clean and free from any makeup residue. If you’re doing a full eye makeup look, apply eyeshadow and mascara before moving on to the eyeliner.
2. Choose your eyeliner: Liquid eyeliners are typically best for creating precise lines. If you’re comfortable with gel eyeliner and have an angled brush, that can also work well for a more controlled application.
3. Find your angle: Take an eyeliner brush (if using gel) or the liquid eyeliner and align it diagonally from the outer corner of your eye towards the tail end of your eyebrow. This line will guide the angle of your cat eye.
4. Create the wing: Starting from the outer corner of your eye, draw a short line upward along the angle you just marked. The length of this line will determine the size of your wing. The longer the line, the more dramatic the wing.
5. Outline the upper lash line: From the end of the wing, draw a line along your upper lash line towards the inner corner of your eye. Try to keep the line as close to the lashes as possible.
6. Fill in the wing and line: Fill in the wing you created with the eyeliner. Then, carefully fill in the space between the wing and the upper lash line, creating a smooth, continuous line.
7. Touch up and refine: Check both eyes to make sure they are symmetrical. Use a Q-tip or cotton swab dipped in eye makeup remover to clean up any mistakes or uneven lines.
8. Connect to the lower lash line (optional): For a more dramatic look, you can extend the wing slightly downward and connect it to your lower lash line. Be careful not to make it too thick or dark to avoid an overly harsh appearance.
9. Curl your lashes and apply mascara: Curl your eyelashes to open up your eyes, and apply mascara to complete the look. Mascara can also help blend your natural lashes with the eyeliner for a seamless finish.
10. Practice makes perfect: Don’t be discouraged if your cat eye doesn’t turn out perfect the first few times. Keep practicing, and with time, you’ll get better at creating a flawless cat eye that suits your eye shape.
